Dispensation study – part 11
– 4. The “gospel of the kingdom” is preached between the time of John the Baptist and the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The two kingdoms presented to the Jews in this period, were the kingdom of heaven which is a physical, literal, earthly kingdom. (Matthew 11:12) The other kingdom preached was the kingdom of God. This is a SPIRITUAL kingdom. (Luke 17:20-21, Romans 14:17) This “gospel of the kingdom” was preached because the King of kings (The Lord Jesus Christ) was physically on the earth at that time.
Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Under the first testament = Old Testament
The death of the testator = New Testament
